da Vinci Robotic Assisted Surgery

Our board-certified surgeon, Dr. Christina Tun, has specialized experience in the da Vinci robotic surgical system.

Today, many gynecologic procedures are performed using minimally invasive laparoscopic or robotic-assisted surgery, possibly with da Vinci technology.

Both minimally invasive approaches require one or a few small incisions that doctors use to insert surgical equipment and a camera for viewing. In laparoscopic surgery, doctors use special long-handled tools to perform surgery while viewing magnified images from the laparoscope (camera) on a video screen.

Surgeons using da Vinci technology may be able to remove your uterus through either a few small incisions (cuts) or through one small incision in your belly button using Single-Site® technology. During surgery, your surgeon sits at a console next to you and operates using tiny instruments.
